Latvian folk band Auļi released a new music video for the song Bērītim kumeļam featuring musicians from Mongolia, Norway and Austria.
The music is part of Auļi’s concerts program in collaboration with musicians from various countries around the world. Biography
Auļi was founded in 2003 in Riga, the capital of Latvia, bringing together three talented percussionists, six bagpipers and a double bass player. Together, they create a very particular sound, combining old and modern elements in what the band members called “etnotranss” (ethnic trance).
Similar to other groups commonly labeled as “folk musicians”, their inspiration comes from the nature and melodies of their country’s ancient music.
The band is known for its partnerships with traditional musicians from different countries, showing how very particular music styles of different peoples manage to dialogue without losing their own musical essences.
