Festa na Taberna, the first EP by the Brazilian band Celtic folk Bardow & Os Folks, is now available on major digital platforms.

Mixing Celtic folk and rock music, Festa na Taberna (Party at the Tavern) features five original songs, plus a cover version of the song New York by Brazilian Sertaneja music duo Chrystian and Ralf. Alan Pinho, one of the band members, was responsible for the production.

Among the instruments selected for the recordings is the Galician bagpipe which, according to theories, was one of the first European musical instruments to land in Brazil. In a letter from Pero Vaz de Caminha to Manuel I of Portugal, he reports that the Indigenous peoples “played and laughed and danced… very well to the sound of the bagpipe”.
