Norwegian Nordic Folk band Eldrim released their debut album, Kvile, in digital format ahead of the CD release.

The album was released in digital format, though a CD version will also be released soon. The postponement of the physical release was the result of problems with the printing of the booklet.

“‘Kvile’ is a concept album where you’ll be taken back a thousand years on a journey through longing, love, disease, loss, despair and the uncertainty of what will come after this life.”

Eldrim was founded in 2015 from the wishes of five people to play music inspired by the Vikings. The desire arose when they participated in several Vikings markets, in which they acted as historical reenactors. They try to compose music with the sonority that they imagine their Viking ancestors enjoyed. For this, they build their own instruments based on archaeological finds and research.

Members consider that they belong to two bands in one: one dedicated to the Vikings and medieval markets, where they play acoustic music; another for shows, in which they adapt to amplified performances.
