Cantos ao Vento (Chants at the Wind), the debut album of Brazilian folk singer Jessyë Wølker, is now available.
The album has seven compositions with a focus on lyrical singing and folk and Celtic music, as well as inspirations from other cultures and musical styles.
Cantos ao Vento was conceived as a conceptual album, with songs that follow their own narrative, in the form of singing and natural sounds, accompanied by string and percussion instruments.
“These ‘stories’ are not necessarily told, as their own metalanguage is worked on in figurative narrative songs or songs without lyrics that explore vocal range.”

“It carries in itself a playful atmosphere that refers to the medieval times, inherited from the folk and Celtic musical genres. It also incorporates lyrical singing and references to the Tupi-Guarani language and refers to nature with an organic and simple atmosphere.”
The result of a crowdfunding campaign, the album was released independently on CD and digital format.
