The Dutch Nordic folk band Sowulo released on Monday (6) the music video for the song Brego in Breoste.
Another big name among those who reimagine the music of the Nordic peoples of the Viking Era, the band Sowulo has just officially released the single that will be part of the album MANN, whose recordings are due to be completed next summer.
This song is about your inner King and Queen. You don’t need a throne or kingdom, you are a ruler in thy chest! Wherever you are, you rule over you inner kingdom. Rule responsibly and with honor.

The members of the band do not hide the great influence that Wardruna‘s music had on them when they started playing. This does not mean that they are a mere copy of the Norwegian masters of Nordic Folk, but that they are a group that deals similar themes in their compositions. Thus, we are graced by songs inspired by the Nordic pagan culture and the appropriate ritualistic atmosphere for the inner journey proposed by the group.
The idea of creating the band emerged in 2010. At the time, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Faber Horbach designed the logo of the band inspired by the Sowilō rune (proto-Germanic rune name of the), which represents the sun. The symbolism of this rune permeates the themes of the two albums released so far, Alvenrad and SOL, which are based on the seasons.
Alvenrad, Sowulo’s debut album, was released in 2013. The second one, SOL, brought together old songs and more recent ones recorded entirely with acoustic instruments.
