The electro-folk project of Gustav Holberg and RúnahildAstralseid, revealed Metempsychosis, the first single of their upcoming album, Electric Love.

The song is a reference to the process of transmigration of the soul and reincarnation in the context of ancient Greek philosophy. It was performed, recorded, mixed and mastery by Gustav himself, who also shared a few words about the tune.

“It was hard to pick a track from the coming album to feature as a single, maybe the strangest of them was picked. For those of you who are fans of Shpongle, this track might resonate extra well. It starts slow, deep and mystical, but ends up in joyous madness, almost like what you can hear in balkan boogie.”

In the upcoming release, Gustav will revisit some of his long lost compositions, in his own personal quest for completion. Mixing electronic and organic sounds, the album will borrow elements from genres such as psybient, psytrance, ethno and rune folk, while drawing inspiration from artists like Shpongle, Dead Can Dance, Suduaya and Wardruna.

While all of the songs this time were entirely written by Gustav, Rúnahild will still lend her beautiful and wild voice in two of them.

Featuring 6 tracks and 41 minutes of music, Electric Love will be released on all major platforms on August 23rd, 2021, but you can already pre-save it.
