Lindy-Fay Hella (Wardruna) & Dei Farne revealed a music video for Furnas, a song from the duo’s latest album, Islet. Mixing varied musical influences, Furnas was written by the duo Lindy-Fay and Roy Ole Førland. They were joined by John Stenersen (Wardruna, Gåte, The Third Circle) on the nyckelharpa.
After releasing her first solo album in 2020 (Seafarer), Lindy-Fay teamed up with Dei Farne, comprised then of Roy Ole Førland, Ingolf Hella Torgersen and Sondre Veland (Wardruna), to release the album Hildring in 2021.
Produced by Iver Sandøy (Ivar Bjørnson & Einar Selvik, Enslaved), the video was was filmed at Bergen Kjøtt, a historic industrial building in Bergen known across Norway for hosting cultural events. Lindy-Fay Hella and Roy-Ole Førland chose this location for its ability to evoke two powerful emotions present in the song: coldness and loneliness. Lindy-Fay explains,
“The lyrics are very personal to me and romantic in a way. Dysfunctional maybe, but as the saying goes: There is always a light in the other side of the tunnel.”
Islet was released via By Norse Music on March 8, 2024 and shall appeal to fans of Depeche Mode, Chelsea Wolfe and Eivør.
Lyrics:
Lindy-Fay Hella & Dei Farne – Furnas
When I close my eyes
There is a world within
To swim in
To sink in
To drown in
To float in
In this Otherworld
I am flying
It is warm
And when I open my eyes
There is a world outside
To walk in
To run in
To stand in
To be in
And now
My heart is on
I told you then
My heart is on
I am
My heart is on
You are
My heart is on
I am flying
My heart is on
Close my eye
