Amalie Bruun‘s project Myrkur (Nordic folk) released a new single, Dronning Ellisiv, her version of the song by Harald Foss.
Recorded during the Folkesange album sessions, Dronning Ellisiv adopts the same style from her acclaimed latest release, giving her own touch to a song by one of Norway’s most famous folk musicians.
The song tells the tale of the Grand Prince Yaroslav of Novgorod and his daughter Elisiv of Kiev, who would later marry King Harald of Norway and become Queen Consort of Norway in the 1040’s.
