Slavic folk band Percival revealed a video in which they play A Byla Ta, a song from their upcoming album Slava IV.
The song is based on old Slavic languages and tells about some people in the future nostalgically looking back into the past “better times”. It reflects the ever present sentiment of the peoples that feel displaced in their own eras, imagining how things would be better in times past.
Slava IV continues the series of albums that brought traditional songs from various Slavic countries. This time, though, it’ll be comprised of songs written by Percival itself. The album will be released later this year.

Lyrics – A Byla Ta
A byla, ta byla gdysi
Nja kak v czjapiarasznij czas
Njeba nad galavoj nja dym gustoj
Hvjezdy nad galavoj nja dym szyroj
A byla, ta byla gdysi
Nja kak v czjapiarasznij czas
Zieloń prirodu vkol nja stal mracznoj
Ptakov czudovij spjav nja szum strasznoj
A byla, ta byla gdysi
Nja kak v czjapiarasznij czas
Vozducha svjażij viv nja pyl dusznoj
Vjatra chaladnyj viv nja żar żaroj
