The Frenchmen of Skáld have revealed the music video for Flúga, a song from the band’s first album, Vikings Chant, released on January 25th.
This is the second official music video of this new Nordic folk band. The first video released was for the song Rún.
Flúga is the fifth of the 13 tracks on the album, 12 of them sung in Old Norse. The last song on the album, Jóga, is a cover version of the Icelandic singer Björk, sung in English. The album was released on CD and vinyl.

The song talks about the process of creating Thor’s Hammer, Mjölnir. “Flúga” means “fly” and refers to the disguise assumed by Loki to hinder the work of blacksmiths dwarves. Loki had made a bet with them that they would not be able to build anything more beautiful than the objects he owned.
The dwarves remained calm and managed to do their job. However, Loki bit the eyelids of one of the blacksmiths, Brokk, while producing his last weapon, resulting in a hammer with a very short handle. Still, the hammer known as Mjölnir would prove to be a powerful weapon against the giants.
