The Norwegian band Eldrim (Nordic Folk) released a music video for their new single, Tru.
With a total length of more than 10 minutes, the video touches the subject of loss, despair and a crisis of faith, a reference to the period of Christianization that the Scandinavian peoples went through. Whether the protagonist of the video truly abandoned the faith of his ancestors, according to the band, “it’s up for the viewer to decide”.
Lyrics – Tru
Vit at i meg
Riv djupe sår
Ingen veg
Bær meg over!
Høyrd har eg om
Himmelanker
Fe og hyrde
Sjelesankar
Deus videt
Deum audit
Dominus loquitor
Vis alt i deg
Ljos, vind, vreide…
Gje min ande
Heilag fred
English Translation – Belief
Know that I am
Torn by deep wounds
No path
Will carry me over
Heard have I
of heavenly anchor
Herd and shepherd
Soul gatherer
Deus videt
Deum audit
Dominus loquitor
Show all of you
Light, wind, wrath…
Give my spirit
Holy peace
