Wardruna‘s Einar Selvik revealed The Ravens Saga, the second official Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game soundtrack EP, composed by himself, Jesper Kyd and Sarah Schachner.

Unlike the first EP, Out of the North, which only featured one song by the Norwegian Skald, this time we have four tracks with the unmistakable vocals and Nordic instruments played by the master of Nordic folk music.

The Ravens Saga was released digitally by Lakeshore Records and is available on multiple platforms.

Jesper Kyd and Sarah Schachner, the creators of the soundtrack, told Spin where they wanted to go with the main theme for the game.

“We wanted the main theme to simultaneously evoke feelings of uncertainty and hope, what I imagine many of these Vikings must have felt as they bravely sailed across the seas to an unknown fate. There is a building emotional tension throughout the arrangement, personifying Eivor’s epic journey.”

Sarah Schachner

“We focused on creating a melody and experience that connected deeply with the journey Eivor is on while using sounds that transport you into the Viking age.”

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is based on the conflicts between the Viking invaders and the Saxons during late 9th century. The player will control a (either male or female) warrior named Eivor, who’ll have to battle Wessex’s King Alfred the Great’s army in order to begin a new life far away from your home country in Norway.

The game will be released on November 17 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia.
