KsANa (Ritual Pagan Folk – Bulgaria) revealed Blood-Soaked Earth, a song from Thracian Lands, the soundtrack for the movie Legends of Belintash.
The song is about the valiant Thracian resistance against the might of the Roman Empire.
“It’s a song ritual. It’s a song challenge. It’s a song about the glory of battle and brutality of war; a song about secret plans, treachery, conflicts, and boundless courage.
It’s a song about the blood that leaves an iron-like taste in the mouth and runs out at the battlefield.
In this composition, where we poured all our essence in, you will experience the emotions of combat. You will hear the ice-cold cling of the weapons of the Roman army, you’ll hear its heavy firm steps – the deep beating of the drums has taken good care of this. You will sense the sharp breathing of the soldiers while they march.
Thrace’s response consists of wild screams and a passionate attack that’s been captured by a completely different drum aspect while its priests and priestesses chant their goodbye prayers.
And, somewhere on that battlefield, an inhuman scream pierces the chaos of this combat. Whether this is an exclamation of triumph or a pre-mortal cry – we let the listener decide.
…What follows afterward? Oblivion, the way to the afterworld. The place where both men and women look at the living with blinded eyes.”
