Nordic folk project Munknörr released a new EP, titled Vinland, celebrating the encounter between the natives from North America and the Viking explorers.
Damián Schneider invites the listener to imagine those times when those two different worlds collided. There’s not much information about what happened when Vikings landed around AD 1000 on Vinland, on what is now Northeastern Canada around AD 1000. The same can be said about Greenland, for that matter. For this reason, Munknörr’s four new songs blend Shamanic with Nordic elements to help you travel through the lush forest where such encounter might have taken place.
