Mongolian Folk Metal band The HU released their debut album, The Gereg, based on the history of the empire founded by Genghis Khan.
The album features nine songs by the band that has conquered fans in different parts of the world through their music videos released on the internet. With the help of traditional instruments and throat singing from their country, the quartet shows a very particular sound, but with familiar characteristics for Metal listeners.
The HU is currently touring the USA and Canada until the end of the year.
The album’s title, The Gereg, is a reference to the diplomatic “passport” issued by the Mongol Empire at the time of the Great Khan (1162-1227).
