Heilung announced a new collaboration for the 7th season of the multiplayer medieval warfare free-to-play PC game Conqueror’s Blade.
Celebrating the release of Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok, the new update for the game, MY.GAMES and Booming Tech got the experimental Nordic folk band to have two of their songs featured in the new Viking-themed installment. The band will also have its name immortalized in one of the new combat map’s locations, which will be called “Heilung Fjord”, serving as a place for healing, just like the meaning behind the group’s name.
The announcement came accompanied by the release of the trailer that features Galgaldr, a song from their 2019 album Futha.
This is not the first video game collaboration the group is involved with. They have also contributed with the upcoming action-adventure game Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. Both partnerships are part of a (fortunately) growing number of game soundtracks featuring Pagan folk bands.
Apart from Heilung, the Polish band Percival became notorious for taking part in the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soundtrack. Other musicians like Einar Selvik from Wardruna (Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, League of Legends, Rend), The HU (Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order) and Faroese singer Eivør Pálsdóttir (God of War) have also left their mark on video games.
Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok will be released as a free update on March 18
