Eivør Pálsdóttir was born in  Syðrugøta, Faroe Islands, where she started her career while still a teenager. At the tender age of 13 she appeared on the Faroese television. She also won a national singing contest the same year.

When she was 15, she joined the rock band Clickhaze and in the following year she released her first album, Eivør Pálsdóttir. At that time, she was already mixing her various influences, singing Faroese ballads played with guitar and bass, blending jazz and texts by notorious Faroese writers, as well as writing compositions of her own.

In 2003 she was nominated for three categories in the Icelandic Music Awards, where she was graced as best singer and best performer. A noteworthy feat, considering the award is generally only given to artists from Iceland.

Along the years, she both approached and then moved away from the folk music from the Faroe Islands. Some of her signature songs, such as Trøllabundin, are from the period when she let her roots speak louder, so to speak. Today, she lives in Denmark and sings in Faroese, Icelandic, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and English.

Eivør is trained in classical singing, for this reason she occasionally performs with orchestras, specially at concerts dedicated to Norse and Faroese sagas. She’s also featured on the soundtrack for Netflix TV show The Last Kingdom, as well as on the score for the PS4 game God of War.
