Illuriah was founded in 2013 in São Paulo, Brazil, as a full band under the name “Constant Illusions”. It was named as Illuriah after one of the guitar players and the drummer left. The name of the group is a word conceived by the current only member of the project, Igor Gartzea, meaning “all the elements of the world, all the elements that complete life and death, all the elements that make the earth firm and the air breathable”.
Gartzea was influenced by artists such as Wardruna, Kati Rán, Heidevolk, Danheim, Myrkur and other names that helped him create his own Nordic folk tunes.
