Oaklore releases the music video for ‘Branle Des Chevaux’

Brazilian folk, medieval and Renaissance music band Oaklore the music video for the song Branle Des Cheveaux, a French Renaissance dance.


The original version of Branle Des Chevaux (Horses’ Branle) dates from the 16th century. Branle (swing, movement) is a type of music and dance whose main movement is lateral, danced by pairs or groups in a circle or in a line.

Oaklore decided to give a touch of their own to the song for the 21st century audience in the band’s second music video. You will be able to see and feel all the energy provided by it on the real tavern party that is the music video.

The recording of the music video was made possible by a successful crowdfunding campaign. The most appropriate setting for the occasion was Milord Taverna, in Campinas, Brazil.

Oaklore’s name refers to the Wisdom of the Oaks. They brings to modern times music from fantasy worlds as well as folk songs. The band’s repertoire includes medieval, Renaissance, baroque, folk, Celtic, rock classics with medieval garb, tracks and themes from films, series, epic games and their own compositions.

In order to guarantee authenticity to this voyage through the past and the fantastic, they make use of classical guitars, oud, bouzouki, mandolin, melodica, shamanic drum, alfaia, various types of flutes and other instruments.

  • Aline Polisello (vocals, Western concert flute, recorder, tin wistle, melodica, classical guitar)
  • Alexandre Chamy (classical guitar, vocals, bowed guitar, harpsichord, flutes, backing vocal)
  • Aruan Siqueira (shamanic drum, cajón, alfaia, classical guitar, backing vocal)

The band’s first music video, Herr Mannelig, was released in 2018. The song is a medieval Swedish ballad that tells the story of a mountain troll (bergatroll) who wants to marry a young human. Her goal is to get rid of the curse of living like a troll, but even with countless valuable gifts, Mr. Mannelig does not answer hes marriage proposal.
