Kati Rán (Nordic Folk – Netherlands) announced the release of a new 10-minute single titled Unnr / Mindbeach, which will be released on November 20th.
The new song by the self-taught Dutch singer and multi-instrumentalist is written in Icelandic, respecting Eddaic phrasing and form. For such endeavor, Rán received the help of two Icelandic experts: the poet Palli Banine, who has worked with theater, film, fine art, poetry, among other disciplines, and the medieval philologist Teresa Dröfn Njarðvík, who has authored books on runes and poetry, as well as having written lyrics for many musicians from Iceland.
Mindbeach was composed by Kati Rán and Christopher Juul (Heilung), featuring as guest musicians Kristian ‘Gaahl’ Espedal (Gaahls Wyrd) and Yana Veva (Theodor Bastard) as singers, Harald Juul on guitars and Borgar Magnason on bass and cello.
