German singer Katja Moslehner (ex-Faun) released a music video for Am Weltenrand, the title-track from her upcoming debut solo album.

Katja Moslehner was the main singer and percussionist in Faun for five years (2013-2017), including on the 2013 album Von den Elben, which achieved platinum status. Coming from a family of artists, she started singing while still a child at her school choir, beginning her basic classical training at high school. After graduating, she immersed herself in Indian music while studying Indology / Religious Studies in Leipzig. Katja went on to travel to India, Hawaii, Southern and Eastern Europe, encountering many different musical traditions on her way.

After her travels, she moved to Berlin and founded a music and theater art group with friends, where she implemented various musical and artistic experiences. The group played together for seven years, recording an album and moving through Germany to France and the Czech Republic with their own music and theater productions. After they split-up, she founded the Balkan Folk band, Savica.

For the debut album, she drew inspiration from Taliesin, the famous Celtic bard, as well as from swans, Valkyries, annual festivals and Hildegard von Bingen’s compositions. Katja was joined by many international guest musicians, including Joachim Witt, Satria Karsono (Omnia) and Efrén Lopez (L’Ham de Foc), enriching her music with various instruments such as the ney, hurdy-gurdy, cister, kopuz, bagpipes and harp.

Am Weltenrand will be released on March 5th, 2021 via the German label Swantje Records.
