Polish bands Perunwit and Kraina Ziemi released the Slavic folk music split album Roots, through the label the label Werewolf Promotion.

This is the first studio release by the veterans of Perunwit since 2014, but the first ever for Kraina Ziemi.

Perunwit started in 1994 under the leadership of Aro (Arkadiusz Jęczmionka), who’s still the mind behind the pagan folk group to this day. Along these 26 years, the band received the support and were joined by many talented musicians from their home country, such as members from Percival Schuttenbach. Aro himself is also part of the equally longstanding Slavic folk band, Lord Wind. Their side of the split includes three new songs and a cover version of black metal band Satyricon’s Myn Hillest Til Vinterland.

Kraina Ziemi was founded in 2015 by Anna Alruna (Anna M. Oklejewicz), who is also a member of Perunwit and who also used to play in Lord Wind.

Both bands are inspired by native European traditions, myths and nature.
